Epic Things To Add to Your Northern Ireland Elopement

September 15, 2023

So you’re eloping in Northern Ireland and you’re trying to plan your elopement day. As a Causeway Coast native, and someone who has grown up on this incredible coastline, I’m here to tell you, you’ve chosen the best place to get married. If you’re eloping it means that you are wanting a unique and fun adventure. The rule book is out the window. You don’t have to follow some set format. So why not add some epic things in to your timeline and start your marriage with an adventure you’ll never forget. Here are 5 ideas for your Northern Ireland Elopement

1. Book a boat tour of the Causeway Coast

There is literally no better way to see the coast of Northern Ireland than by boat. With epic locations like Kinbane Castle, Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway all within a short sailing, you will be able to see them all with the most unique views. You will also get to check out the wildlife and if you come in summer, there may even be dolphins joining you. Check out Kintra Boat Tours, who sail from Ballycastle. They have such a wealth of knowledge, and their boats have plenty of space for photos or if you want to bring extra guests with you.

2. Book a Helicopter Tour of the Causeway Coast

If boats aren’t your thing, maybe helicopters are. Again, you’re going to get the most incredible views of the coastline and a story to tell for years to come. Check out these guys for their tours, they come highly recommended.

3. Have a Romantic Picnic

Ok so maybe you want to keep your feet on land. Well why not organise a beautiful styled picnic. It not only looks beautiful, but it means you can enjoy some time together soaking in these incredible moments. You can also add a cake to cut and some bubbles to enjoy as well. Just because you’re not having the big wedding, doesn’t mean you can’t include things like cake…you never need an excuse for cake!! It can be set up outside or if the weather isn’t too reliable there are indoor options such as the cottage at Dunluce Castle or one of the epic caves in Ballintoy or White Rocks Beach. 4. Go Horse Riding

Do you love horses? Maybe you’ve always wanted to trek. Or you’re a Game of Thrones fan and would love to enjoy some of the old school vibe with horses. Well that’s easily sorted and would make an incredible addition to your Causeway Coast Elopement. Check out Shean’s Horse Farm or Crindle Stables for more info.

5. Go For A Sea Swim

I know the thought of the Irish Sea might turn your blood cold, but I promise it’s actually incredible. Locals swim in the sea here all year round. And there’s something so liberating about running into the sea and just having all the fun with your new spouse. Like we said, there’s no rules here. You don’t have to keep your dress pristine. Who cares if your hair gets wet? The goal is just to have an adventure TOGETHER.

6. Go To The Arcade

Portrush is full of arcades or ‘amusements’ as we call them here. It’s such an incredible way to start your marriage, just having fun together. When Ashley visited for her elopement, she told me how she loved to play the slots, so we headed to the arcade. It was one of the highlights of her day.
